Mickelsörarna – Oravais

Published

Friday morning was sunny and we tried out our new electric motor for the dinghy, with a solar-charged easy-to-handle lithium battery. There was a small turn around the islands in the neighborhood.

We then moved on to find a harbor more sheltered from the strong southerly wind that was expected. We thought at first that it protected the strait behind Stora Kalkskäret would work but it was in the deepest layer where we tried to anchor so that we would feel safe with strong winds in the narrow strait. Instead, we went on to the port of Oravia.

Late in the evening, Greta and PJ came from Oxkangar to look at the boat and us. We only managed to meet them for a few minutes on the pier before the downpour came.

But Greta came back on Saturday morning, then with lovely fresh pigs for Eva and me.

It rained much of Saturday; the highlight after the pigs was a visit to the grocery store.
