North course!

Published

After several windy and rainy days, we finally had better weather in sight. Wednesday would offer sunshine and hardly any wind, so it was time to continue.

While Eva did her morning yoga, I took a trip with the dinghy to the gas station in the Old Harbor and bunkered diesel. It was a long way to the next gas station.

On departure, we aimed at the Tankar lighthouse a few hours north of Jakobstad. It felt like a suitable and exciting target at a reasonable distance. We took the inland fairway north up after Larsmo.

The day was fine but was to be followed by more rain. We gradually began to think, maybe just as well to continue north. We passed Tankar without adding and instead headed for Brahestad many hours further north.

The weather continued to be good, almost no wind and a slight swell. The sun went down a couple of minutes before midnight and by 00.20 we had moored in the Ulko-Fantti harbor in Brahestad.
