This morning we woke up on Birsskär in the southwestern part of the Finnish archipelago to a wonderfully beautiful, calm and warm morning after a few cold, rainy and windy days.
It was a dream summer morning with a morning dip, yoga on the rocks and a rowing trip to Stenskär to buy freshly smoked perch and vegetables from the family that owns the guest jetty. They are real multi-taskers, which you often have to be as an archipelago resident. They run a small farm, fish, smoke fish, knit, sell their products to guests, and rent out cabins.
The perch tasted like childhood, i.e. wonderfully good ! Today we are heading east to the Åland archipelago.
Today the Åland archipelago awaits.
