A lot has happened since the last Turid report from home in Umeå on Saturday morning.
Late on Saturday evening we rolled off the ferry in Vaasa. We drove half an hour northeast to Vörå for the night.
In Oxkangar, right next door, there was the boat we were speculating on, a Hallberg Rassy Monsun 31 from 1978. From the ad, we had understood that it was in good condition with, among other things, an almost new engine. It was set up on land and we could get it launched on Monday if we wanted.
We were happy with what we saw on land and decided to go ahead with the purchase so yesterday was going to be the launch. The tow truck had to wait, but after a few hours it was time. The boat hit the water and it floated!
Later in the evening there was a test drive for the engine and then contract writing. Now we are just waiting for the money to have been transferred to the seller's account.
Today is Tuesday and we will have a review of the sails and how they are set. After that it will probably be a drive to Vasa - there are a few small things we should buy.
Tonight we plan to sleep on the boat and at eight tomorrow we hope to be able to leave for Sweden.
Good luck on your journey.
