Rensviken and land rise

Published

Jakob:

After a night in Ulvöhamn, we wanted to go exploring. We rowed across the strait to Södra Ulvön to walk along the side towards the sea. The target was Rensviken, a small round lagoon which a few decades ago was a popular excursion port for motorboats, see Lantmäteriet's aerial photo from 1975 where five boats lie on the beach.

Rensviken on Google Maps.

Rensviken is no longer a bay. It is cut off from the sea even when at high tide, like today, 20 cm above mean water level. The land lift is very noticeable.
