Trial 2

Published

During test ride 1 yesterday we had a problem with the large case, I dropped it when I was going to attach it to the large case.

New attempt today, trial run 2.

There was a southerly wind, steady 8 m/s. In advance I had taken in a reef on the store, I wanted to test reefing under controlled conditions. Eva steered and I had to take care of setting the sails.

Hoisting the torn big one went well. The only thing was that I forgot to release the kick waist, it was a bit too tight.

Once the big one was up we were going to try the furling jib for the first time. It got a little exciting because the boat only has one winch on each side and ratchets with buttons and bolt locks. Letting out the furling jib feed line at the same time as I brought the shot home didn't go perfectly the first time, if you say so.

But out came the jib at last; it filled with wind and we sailed. No problems at all.

After a few cruises, we turned home towards Pathholmsviken.

June 26:
