Time for departure - follow us on the journey

Published

Now it is time for departure. The plan is that we leave Holmsund during the day, perhaps at lunchtime or a little later. The first stage has Kaskö as a preliminary goal. It is barely 100 minutes away (160 km as the crow flies), which would take 25 hours at 4 knots sailing speed. But the winds are light and variable so we'll see how that thing turns out...

We have a satellite position transmitter on board, so it is good to follow us directly even when we are far out at sea. The position is updated every few minutes. Here is the link:

You can also go to our blog turid.se and select "Where are we?" in the menu.

We are also included in AIS services such as MarineTraffic. However, they do not work well when you are out in the Bothnian Sea because the system is based on you or a large ship nearby having an internet connection. We'll be pretty much alone out there most of the time.
