Swimming at (in) the border

Published

On the way home from Valsörarna, it was sunny, mirror-like and windless for the first few hours. Suddenly Eva wanted to bathe!

We put the reverse gear in neutral and let the boat slowly come to a stop. A gear braked a little extra. Out in the middle of Norra Kvarken, Eva slipped into the water. She swam a little way down towards the dinghy before she got back up.

Back home, we look at the coordinates of the location of the bath. It then turns out that Eva bathed only about 50 meters from the border between Sweden and Finland, on the Finnish side. Eva could have swum to Sweden in a minute!
